Malaika ‘Phoenix Ali’ Muhammad

Artist, Activist, Motivational Speaker, Healer and Cultural Curator.

Malaika PhoeniX Ali’s diverse experience and wide ranged talent gives birth to a unique perspective that is just as impactful as it is colorful. Raised in the bustling culture of a 90’s Atlanta. She began her journey into the arts as a young teenager working as an assistant volunteer coordinator with The National Black Arts Festival, developing relationships with renowned visual artists such as Charles Bibbs, Poncho Brown, Kadir Nelson and Jameel Rasheed. The daughter of an avid collector of African Art, Ritual sculpture and print, She spent her young years surrounded by talented artists and immersed in the Arts Festival scene. Four years of Music Theory at the prestigious John McEachern High School prepared her to receive an Academic and Vocal performance scholarship in 2000 to Dillard University in New Orleans, where she majored in Radio/Music Business and Vocal Performance.  Her work as an On Air personality at WDUB Radio New Orleans and later Station Manager of WDUB solidified her role as a student leader and liaison to the Dean where she initiated a campaign to restructure and revitalize the Music Business Department, petitioning for and securing a substantial grant that provided a state of the art recording studio for the Mass Communications Department. Her contributions to the program continues to benefit the  University today.

Her professional experience ranges from Collegiate Marketing Coordinator for Hidden Beach Recordings, supporting artists such as Mike Phillips, Jill Scott and Kindred Family Soul to  Music Publishing Assistant at DARP Studios in Atlanta GA. PhoeniX ‘s stint at DARP Studios is where she discovered her niche in the music industry. Trained by Danny Zook, her publishing efforts supported a catalog of acts such as Outkast, Dallas Austin, 112, and Bobby Valentino.

Since 2006, Phoenix Ali has trained as a Holistic Health Practitioner and Vibrational Therapist, studying various healing and spiritual art forms at A Life of Peace Wellness Institute and The Sanctuary Academy of Universal Enlightenment Inc. She has built a business as a Health and Beauty Consultant while continuing to consult and support organizations and artists such as David Sha, ZIN, Trickle Down Entertainment, Gutta Boy Entertainment, Hereafter Wellness, Sisterhood Creations, DRUM Music Studios, Hip Hop Detoxx, Queendom Come Inc, and many others.  Her collective 20 years of experience in various fields of Art and Culture coupled with her experience as a Holistic Health and Beauty Practitioner has given birth to UrbHol Vibe (Urban Holistic Vibration), a lifestyle brand that aims to bridge the gap between urban culture and wellbeing while fiercely promoting the healing power of ‘Creative Behavior’.

Known for her positive spirit, unyielding compassion and love for the underserved, PhoeniX was most recently recognized by The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, President Barack Obama, Houston Mayor Annise Parker and Councilman Dwight Boykins, along with her Alma Mater Dillard University, for her heroic efforts in rescuing 7 people from the rising waters during the 2015 Memorial Day flood. Honored by the city of Houston with a day in her name, June 23rd in now named Malaika Muhammad Day.

Appropriately called, ‘The Creative’s Advocate’, Malaika ‘Phoenix Ali’s life experience has brought her full circle. She is back ‘On Air’ at All Real Radio, this time with a diverse wealth of knowledge and experience but the same old Love Jones for the culture!!!!
